This special chime is hand-crafted by talented Fair Trade artisans of India from recycled metals and features a lotus symbol finished in an antiqued- gold look and petite rustic tinkling bells.  It measures 25cm x 19cm, with an overall length of 35cm including the chain.

Bell making is an ancient tradition, passed down through generations of highly skilled craftspeople for over 1000 years in India.  These bells are made from a special mixture of recycled metals that include iron and tin, coated in brass and copper alloys.

Each bell is hand tuned to create distinctive resonant sounds, traditionally used so that farmers could identify their livestock. To this day, no two bells sound exactly the same! There is a huge difference in sound quality of machine-made and hand-made bells. These bells are expertly handcrafted in the Kutch district of Gujarat State in the North East of India bordering Pakistan.
