Sterling Silver Hamsa Hands Earrings
$20.00
These little limited-edition earrings are hand-crafted from 925-sterling
silver and feature dainty openwork Hamsa Hand charms and have a drop of approximately 3cm.
The Hamsa Hand is a popular symbol in North Africa and
the middle Eash and is quite often used in jewellery making. It is said to represent
feminine power, strength, and protection. It is believed to protect against the
evil eye. The Hamsa hand is often represented as an open palm with an eye in
the centre.
Sterling silver is a metal composed by weight of 92.5%
silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper.
Fine silver, which is 99.9% pure silver, is relatively soft, so silver
is usually alloyed with copper to increase its hardness and strength. Sterling
silver is widely used in jewellery making for its affordability (compared to
gold), its hardness and durability.
